Indy Lights champion Spencer Pigot has landed an IndyCar Series gig for the 2016 season.Indy Lights driver Spencer Pigot will get to show what he’s got in the Big Show.For now, the 22-year-old Orlando native has secured three races with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing, but the intent is to have more opportunities once sponsorship deals are in place. The three races will be funded by Andersen Promotions through the Mazda Road to Indy program that supports the reigning Indy Lights champion.The Indy Lights title was Pigot’s second in succession in the Mazda Road to Indy ladder system. He won the 2014 Pro Mazda championship, also with Juncos Racing.Pigot won six races in each division, including a total of nine poles and 17 top-three finishes.
