UMBC men’s basketball (9-9, 1-2) returns home Wednesday night to face the Binghamton Bearcats (5-12, 1-1). This will be Binghamton’s first game at the UMBC Event Center, having faced the Retrievers last season at the Retriever Athletic Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Retrievers have won five consecutive meetings betweenthe two squads including two wins last season by 12 points at home and 10points on the road. UMBC, losers of their last two contests, fell on the road to UMass-Lowell (9-9, 1-2) on Saturday, 74-63. The River Hawks were led by Christian Lutete who scored 26 points. The Retrievers were led by graduate student forward Joe Sherburne with 20 points. UMBC is allowing just 65.3 points per game which leads the conference. The Bearcats are led by freshman guard Sem Sessoms who is averaging 17.4 points per game. Graduate student guard J.C. Show averages 10.4 and is the Bearcats’ big threat from beyond the arc.
