LANCASTER – The public got to tour Antelope Valley Hospital’s new women’s health and obstetrics center, expected to open soon. The $24.3 million Women and Infants Pavilion will feature 39 postpartum beds, a 21-bed neonatal intensive care unit, 22 newborn beds, 19 labor and delivery rooms, nine antepartum beds and 12 triage rooms. The facility is located in a separate building south of the main hospital, which is the only one with a maternity ward in the Antelope Valley and handles about 5,000 births a year.
