Mississippi ~ Multiple Taxes: Relief for Victims of Severe Storms, Tornadoes, Straight-Line Winds, and Flooding Announced

first_imgCCH Tax Day ReportThe Mississippi Department of Revenue has announced that it will follow federal extensions granted to victims of the severe storms, tornadoes, and straight-line winds that tool place beginning on January 20, 2017. Taxpayers who reside in the counties designated as federally declared disaster areas have until May 31, 2017 to file individual income, corporate income and pass-through entity tax returns due on or after January 20, 2017, and before May 31, 2017. The department automatically provides interest and penalty relief on original or extended filing and payment due dates, including extended filing or payment due dates, that fall within the postponed period. Therefore, taxpayers residing in affected counties do not need to contact the department to get this relief.
